At Ease 3 CDROM Prefs Patch

The At Ease 3 CDROM Prefs Patch is a system extension that
corrects a problem in At Ease versions 3.0 and later and At
Ease for Workgroups versions 3.0 through 3.0.3. This patch
does not affect versions of At Ease earlier than 3.0, or At
Ease for Workgroups version 4.0.

Problem Description

This patch corrects a problem with the CD-ROM Preferences
command in the At Ease setup application. When you display
the settings for a CD-ROM disc listed in the CD-ROM
Preferences dialog box, the settings for a different CD-ROM
disc may appear. If your CD-ROM settings have been
corrupted, you should delete your CD-ROM Preferences file
(see the instructions in the next section, "Before
Installing the Patch"), install the patch, then add your
CD-ROM information again.

Before Installing the Patch

If you have experienced the problem with CD-ROM Preferences
described in the previous section, you MUST delete your
CD-ROM Preferences file before you attempt to add any
additional CD-ROM discs to your list. To do this, follow
these steps:

1. Double-click to open the System Folder on your hard disk.
2. Double-click to open the At Ease Items folder.
3. Drag the CD-ROM Preferences file to the Trash.

If you use At Ease for Workgroups and your settings are
stored on an AppleShare server, delete the CD-ROM
Preferences file on that AppleShare server. The CD-ROM
Preferences file is located in the At Ease Items folder at
the root of the AppleShare volume, not in the server's
System Folder.

Installing the Patch

To install the patch, follow these steps:

1. Drag the patch to your System Folder. A message appears
asking you to place the patch in the Extensions folder.
2. Click OK.
3. Choose Restart from the Special menu to restart your computer.

If you do not see the message in step 1 asking you to place
the patch in the Extensions folder, find the Extensions
folder, which is in the System Folder, and drag the patch
directly to the Extensions folder.

If you use At Ease for Workgroups, you must install the
patch on any workstation that uses the At Ease Setup
(Workgroups) application. You may wish to install it on all
your At Ease workstations since it does not adversely affect
the performance of the computer.

Removing the Patch

To remove the patch, find the At Ease 3 CDROM Prefs Patch
file in your Extensions folder and drag it to the Trash. The
patch will be removed from the system the next time you
restart your computer.
